This role is deemed as a Controlled Function role under the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness and Probity Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.

As a Barclays Junior Private Banker, this is your opportunity to work with Senior Private Bankers in growing, managing, and maintaining existing relationships with ultra-high net worth private banking clients either resident in EEA or directly linked to the EEA region. Acting as a trusted advisor to clients and providing access to the full range of investment solutions, banking services, credit/lending solutions, Structured Solutions, Wealth Advisory, Philanthropic services available from Barclays Private Bank.

What will you be doing?
  • Working in partnership with Private Bankers in the team to achieve personal and team targets for new client acquisition, netting new asset, credit, investment acquisitions, and revenues
  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities, building and maintaining effective introductory relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintaining the highest levels of client service and delivery and being the key contact for banking products, credit advice and client queries
  • Delivering high quality bespoke advice, maximising value for our clients and negotiate the best commercial outcome
  • Utilizing the banker toolset, systems and platforms, and challenge current standards to continuously improve quality
  • Engaging with digital technologies, products and solutions that are relevant to the Private Bank business and have the ability to use them to enhance the service provided to clients
  • Acting as the key interface between the client and other teams including Wealth Advisory, Discretionary Portfolio Management, Investment Advisory, Global, Investment & Solutions
  • Ensuring accurate and timely record keeping of all client interactions and up to date with latest regulatory standards on suitability, capital adequacy and record keeping
What we’re looking for:
  • Exceptional relationship skills and experience of managing and handling the needs of private client individuals and families, analytical reasoning and judgement to solve problems
  • Ability to gain in-depth understanding of clients’ needs and advising on a diverse range of wealth management solutions
  • Some experience in controlling and monitoring of risk within a client book and an interest in achieving competency in the areas of banking, credit and investments
  • Previous experience of the Financial Services industry, ideally in the areas of Retail regulated products and services to mass market and high net worth customers and asset management
Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Irish Qualified Financial Advisor QFA designation or the Accredited Product Advisor APA designation, or studding towards these and understanding of the digital landscape
  • Excellent market exposure and multi-disciplined private banking expertise with high aptitude and understanding of the digital landscape to effectively manage Clients’ changing needs
  • You will be a fluent speaker in English, knowledge of other any European languages would be an advantage
  • Business development skills, an interest in suitable investment solutions and awareness of global and market conditions on AML and KYC

You will be based in our new flagship office, One Molesworth Street, which is in the heart of Dublin city Centre. We are currently expanding which drives a culture of change and hard work ethic, nonetheless the company maintains an open, friendly atmosphere. This is enhanced through our unique on boarding programs and several committees which all employees are eligible to join.
