Senior Occupational Therapist - Adult disabilities The Senior Occupational Therapist - Adult disabilities will provide high-quality, person-centred occupational therapy services to adults with physical, intellectual, and/or developmental disabilities within an Adult Disability Team. The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support service users in achieving optimal independence, participation, and quality of life. Senior Occupational Therapist - Adult disabilities Deliver comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for adults with complex disability needs. Develop, implement, and review evidence-based individualised intervention programmes. Support clients in areas including self-care, daily living skills, mobility, sensory needs, communication supports, and vocational/leisure activities. Provide specialist advice and recommendations on assistive technology, seating, environmental adaptations, and housing needs. Work collaboratively with families, carers, and community agencies to promote continuity of care. Contribute to discharge planning and integrated care pathways. Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and mentorship to junior staff, students, and therapy assistants. Actively contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and policy implementation. Maintain accurate, up-to-date clinical records in line with professional and hospital standards. Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, case conferences, and family meetings. Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) and maintain CORU registration. Prioritise and manage a caseload efficiently, using agreed referral and triage systems. Contribute to waiting list management, risk assessment, and safeguarding processes. Requirements of Senior Occupational Therapist - Adult disabilities Bachelors or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent qualification recognised by CORU). Professional registration with CORU. Minimum 3 years post-qualification clinical experience Desirable: Previous experience in a hospital or multidisciplinary team setting. Training in specialist areas such as sensory integration, seating and postural management, or assistive technology. Experience in supervision, service development, or quality improvement initiatives.
