Financial Controller required for leading international company in Sligo. Hybrid Following a period of sustained global growth, our client is seeking an ambitious, qualified Financial Controller to lead their finance function. Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful candidate will assume full responsibility for financial management, compliance infrastructure and strategic reporting. The successful candidate must have exceptional financial reporting, strong systems/tech affinity, hands-on tax compliance, and overseas payroll management experience. Key Responsibilities:- Financial Reporting & Control: Prepare and manage monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet, cashflow and variance analysis. Provide detailed breakdown of key insights linking financial metrics to overall business strategy across OKRs, KPIs and CSFs Provide detailed insight and analysis outlining overall business performance across key value drivers against targets Ensure accurate and timely month-end close processes. Maintain strong financial controls across the business. Manage statutory accounts preparation, audit process and tax compliance. Budgeting, Forecasting & Business Planning: Lead the annual budgeting process across all departments and business units. Prepare rolling forecasts, cashflow projections and scenario analysis. Support the CEO and senior leadership team with financial modelling and business planning. Track performance against budget, forecast and strategic targets. Provide clear analysis on revenue, EBITDA, gross margin, working capital and cash conversion. Commercial Finance & Business Partnering: Partner with operational leaders to improve project profitability and commercial performance. Provide actionable insight into project margins, labour utilisation, contract performance and cost control. Support pricing, tender reviews and commercial decision-making. Cashflow, Working Capital & Banking: Manage short-term and medium-term cashflow forecasting. Oversee debtor management, credit control and supplier payment planning. Support banking relationships, covenant reporting and lender information requests. Systems, Processes & Controls: Improve finance processes, reporting timelines and quality of financial information. Drive automation and efficiency within the finance function. Ensure robust controls exist around purchasing, payroll, expenses, revenue recognition and project cost capture. Team Leadership: Lead, manage and develop the finance team. Set clear expectations, deadlines and standards within the finance function. Take full ownership of global financial reporting, corporate governance, and monthly closing procedures. Manage, develop, and collaborate daily with the existing local and remote finance team. Ensure absolute corporate tax compliance and seamless execution of international payrolls across various sites. Key Requirements: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with at least 10 years financial accounting reporting experience. Exceptional financial reporting skill set, with the ability to translate complex financial numbers into clear actionable insight. Strong exposure to modern accounting platforms, systems and technologies to drive automation and efficiency. Practical, hands-on experience dealing with robust corporate tax compliance. Demonstrable experience or direct capability in managing and overseeing complex, overseas payrolls (specifically US and European jurisdictions).
