Resident Engineer Location: Limerick City Full-Time 18-Month Contract €75k-€85k DOE, 24 days annual leave. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Resident Engineer to lead the on-site resident engineering team on Project Opera, a landmark €150m mixed-use development in Limerick city. Project Opera will deliver a transformative redevelopment of an existing city block, including new commercial and civic infrastructure such as office buildings, a city library, an apart-hotel, public realm improvements, underground parking, and the refurbishment of protected heritage structures. Project Overview Client: Limerick Twenty Thirty (LTT) Architects: Coady Architects; Henry J Lyons Architects Engineering Services: Civil & Structural and M&E Engineering Teams Project Value: Approx. €150m Construction Contracts Contract A: Demolition & Enabling Works (2022) Contract B: 7-Storey Office Building (2023) Contract C: Library & Offices (2024) Contract D: 14-Storey Office Building (2024) Requirements Degree in Engineering or Construction Management Experience in civil engineering works Strong knowledge of construction supervision, contract administration, and site operations Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Ability to manage multiple workstreams within a complex live construction environment Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and best practice This high-profile public project is of major regional and national significance and involves the redevelopment of a 3.7-acre city-centre site within Limericks historic Georgian Quarter. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing the delivery of multiple construction contracts, ensuring all works are carried out to the highest standards of safety, quality, technical compliance, and programme performance.
