Taighde Eireann - Research Ireland is the national research and innovation funding agency, which was established on 1 August 2024; it amalgamates the activities of the Irish Research Council and Science Foundation Ireland. Research Ireland will drive world-class research and innovation in Ireland, funding excellence in all disciplines across the spectrum of Arts, Engineering, Humanities, Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences, Technology and others.

Applications are sought from innovative and motivated individuals for the role of Accounts Payable Assistant Full-time on a fixed term contract until 31st December 2025.

The role is based in the Finance department and will be reporting to the Finance Manager.

Key responsibilities include:

Set up new suppliers on e-workflow

Assist with overdue Goods Received Notes and missing Purchase Orders

Process invoices on e-workflow once trained and familiar with the system

Assist with maintenance of starters/leavers on finance related systems

Assist with month end activities & returns such as PSWT, Bank Rec & 4th Schedule VAT

Assist with Audit queries

Any ad-hoc tasks related to the Finance activities

Ad hoc duties as required.

Other

Assisting with other departments on ad-hoc tasks - i.e. assisting with Education and Public Engagement events

Providing support to Facilities when needed on Room bookings and configurations/ Logistics relating to events/meetings/training etc.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

Minimum of 2-3 years of work experience in a project management or administrative role.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Desirable:

Third level qualification in a business or related discipline

SharePoint experience

Salary Scale:

The salary scale (Level C) is: Min €31,233 to €57,445 per annum with contributory superannuation (pension).

Please note that new entrants to the public sector will be at the minimum point of the salary scale.

Government policy continues to be that starting pay on recruitment from open competition for all posts within the public service should be at the minimum of the relevant salary scale and are not subject to negotiation. Remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government policy.

Benefits:

Annual leave: 23 days annual leave per annum pro-rata (+ 1 Organisation holiday day + 10 additional public holidays).
