Seamus Crotty, Managing Director, is delighted to announce that Ballyfin Demesne is now recruiting for a General Manager to join our leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and ambitious individual to join an award-winning hotel located in the heart of Ireland, in Co. Laois.Ballyfin Demesne is the proud recipient of 3 Michelin Keys and also recently awarded a Michelin star for our Restaurant, headed by the exceptionally talented Richard Picard-Edwards.Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the General Manager (GM) will be responsible for leading the hotels day-to-day operations, ensuring we are consistently and effectively delivering on our exceptional 5-star guest service.This is a full-time, permanent position working 5 days over 7 days, Monday to Sunday. This is a hands-on operational role where presence is key to success. A strong background in Food and Beverage Operations is highly advantageous.Main duties include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the Managing Director with planning, developing and implementing of strategic initiatives and projects on time and within budget.
- Providing strong leadership and accountability, guidance and hands-on support to all hotel operational departments on a day-to-day basis.
- With exceptional capability in creating guest loyalty and people engagement, the GM will be a role model and team player inspiring a hands-on, proactive, guest and team-focussed approach. The GM must encourage and lead interdepartmental collaboration focusing on service excellence and exceeding every guest expectation.
- Be an inspirational and charismatic leader – setting an excellent example for the team with regards to demonstrating professional conduct and the Hotels core values and behaviours, directing the daily operation and continued success of the Hotel, driving profitability, and elevating productivity, efficiency, quality and service excellence.
- Contribute to creating and maintaining a dynamic culture and positive work environment in which fair and equitable treatment, the pursuit of excellence and employee engagement thrives, and personal and professional development and employee wellbeing is supported.
- Establish a friendly and positive relationship with our guests especially repeat guests. Support the HOD team in service and ensure service standards are maintained at all times.
- Proactively come up with new suggestions or areas of improvement that will have an overall positive impact on the guest experience.
