Cleaning supervisor (part-time)

Location: Douglas, Cork, Ireland

Hours: 11 AM - 3 PM (Start time is 11 AM and must be punctual)

Shift Length: Flexible, based on number of rooms to be prepared

Working Days: Main cleaner works 4-5 days a week; you work 2-3 days directly and oversee all tasks performed by the main cleaner

Reporting: Directly to the manager

Rate: €16.1 per hour

Job Objectives

We are seeking a Cleaning Supervisor responsible for both cleaning and preparing rooms after guest check-out and managing one part-time cleaner under your supervision. The role requires maintaining high hygiene standards and ensuring smooth operation through effective team management. Additionally, 25% of the hours worked by the main cleaner under your supervision will be added to your paid hours. This will include the following tasks:

Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage one part-time cleaner
• Ensure all cleaning tasks meet company hygiene standards
• Report progress and issues directly to the manager
• Coordinate cleaning schedules and workflows
• Provide support to cleaning staff

Cleaning Responsibilities:

• Perform routine cleaning duties as per assigned task list
• Maintain high standards of hygiene following company policies
• Clean internal windows, including sills, ledges, and handles
• Dust skirting boards and surfaces
• Vacuum and mop floors
• Wipe down tables and other surfaces
• Clean toilets, shower rooms, ensuring hygiene
• Replace bed sheets and pillow covers, refill snacks, and set out clean towels

Requirements & Skills

• Experience in housekeeping in the Irish accommodation industry is mandatory
• References from managers in related industries in Ireland will greatly improve your chances
• Must fill in for any absences of cleaners under your supervision without exception, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
• Must be able to complete tasks within the given timeframe (15-25 minutes per room)
• Parking is limited, using public transport or a bicycle is recommended
