The role is designed for a a hands on operations supervisor with experience of supervision and leading teams.
Position Overview: Jurassic Newpark, part of The Newpark Hotel, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Supervisor, preferably with demonstrable Operations and Food & Beverage experience, to play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation and enhancing the guest experience of our attraction. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position involves overseeing the general day-to-day operations, developing and applying Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), implementing safety protocols, and driving business growth. Key Responsibilities:
- Efficient Operations:
- Oversee the efficient running of Jurassic Newpark, ensuring a seamless guest experience.
- Develop and manage staff rosters to meet operational requirements.
- Prioritise health and safety measures, conducting regular checks of dinosaurs, toys, games, and equipment to maintain a safe, family-friendly environment.
- Devise and implement SOPs and checklists to streamline daily tasks.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify areas for operational improvement and develop innovative processes and procedures.
- Work towards reducing queues, enhancing guest flow, and minimising wait times.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the hotel to increase staff training and improve overall service quality.
- Inventory Management:
- Take responsibility for ordering and managing inventory of retail stock, equipment, tools, and consumables.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment to meet demand.
- Implement inventory control measures to minimise waste and losses.
- Complete monthly stock count as per agreed protocols.
- Retail Strategy Development:
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to develop and implement a comprehensive Retail Strategy.
- Research and exploit existing retail opportunities, including the Snack Shack/Dino Delights, Fossil Box Gift Shop, parties/events, and online sales.
- Identify and assess new income streams to drive business growth.
- Guest Engagement and Business Development:
- Prospect and develop Group Tours, School Tours, and Birthday Party packages.
- Devise marketing strategies to attract new visitors while fostering repeat visits.
- Explore partnership opportunities to enhance the visitor experience.
- Special Event Planning and Execution:
- Plan and execute special events, including Halloween, Christmas, Easter, and more.
- Coordinate event logistics, including staffing, decorations, and entertainment.
- Ensure events are aligned with the attractions theme and guest expectations.
- Membership Enhancement:
- Evaluate and enhance Annual Passes, memberships, and loyalty programmes.
- Develop strategies to increase membership sign-ups and renewals.
- Customer Service Charter Development:
- Lead the development of a comprehensive Customer Service Charter for Jurassic Newpark.
- Utilise data-driven insights by gathering guest feedback and conducting surveys (GX scores, TripAdvisor & Google Reviews)
- Identify common suggestions for improvement and areas of opportunity.
- Devise recommendations and action plans to elevate Jurassic Newpark as the premier tourism destination in the South-East.
- Collaborate with the team to implement improvements that enhance the overall guest experience.
Essential Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role is essential, preferably within the tourism or hospitality industry.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Flexibility to work 40 hours per week on a shift pattern, with a standard start time at 9am and a finish time no later than 7pm,
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the food and beverage industry.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and protocols.
- Proven ability to develop, apply, and monitor SOPs and checklists.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.

Additional Information: This is a full-time position that offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the operational excellence and guest satisfaction of Jurassic Newpark. The Supervisor will report directly to the Operations Manager and work closely with various teams across The Newpark Hotel.
