People Experience Manager

The People Experience Manager will oversee day-to-day People Experience operations and ensure the effective delivery of core people services, including performance management, recruitment, learning and development, payroll, and benefits. This role will focus on embedding robust HR processes, supporting managers, and maximising the use of People systems to drive efficiency, compliance, and a strong employee experience.

Key Responsibilities People Experience Leadership
  • Lead People Experience planning, aligning people initiatives with organisational goals.
  • Provide people insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Manage, coach, and develop the People Experience team, promoting collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
Performance Management
  • Ensure the performance management framework is applied consistently across the organisation.
  • Support managers in conducting reviews and delivering effective feedback.
  • Monitor performance data, identifying trends and escalating issues where appropriate.
KPI Monitoring & Reporting
  • Track People Experience KPIs across recruitment, learning & development, payroll, and engagement.
  • Prepare regular reports for leadership and recommend process or performance improvements.
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
  • Oversee end-to-end recruitment processes to ensure timely, high-quality hires.
  • Ensure recruitment practices support diversity, equity, and inclusion objectives.
Learning & Development
  • Embed a structured Learning & Development framework and promote a culture of continuous learning.
  • Coordinate training programmes, track participation, and evaluate effectiveness.
Payroll & Benefits
  • Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local regulations.
  • Manage employee benefits programmes and identify opportunities for process improvement.
People Systems
  • Maximise the use of the organisation’s People system for automation, data accuracy, and reporting.
  • Support and train managers and employees on system functionality.
Employee Engagement & Relations
  • Support initiatives that enhance engagement, wellbeing, and retention.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee queries and employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent handling.
Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to employment legislation, internal policies, audits, and HR best practice.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant people records.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Delivery of People strategy initiatives and strategic projects.
  • Team performance and achievement of operational deadlines.
  • Performance review completion and quality metrics.
  • Recruitment effectiveness (time-to-hire, quality of hire).
  • Training participation and impact.
  • Payroll accuracy, timeliness, and audit outcomes.
  • People system adoption and data integrity.
  • Employee engagement and retention indicators.
  • Compliance and employee relations outcomes.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in a senior HR or People role covering recruitment, learning & development, payroll, and performance management.
  • Demonstrated people leadership and team management capability.
  • Strong strategic and commercial mindset.
  • Knowledge of payroll compliance and benefits administration.
  • Strong experience with HR/People systems and data reporting.
  • Excellent organisational, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent is desirable.
