Head of Legal Regulatory | Dublin Our client, a leading regulatory organisation, is seeking to appoint an experienced Head of Legal to lead the legal function supporting a major national cybersecurity and resilience programme. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced solicitor or barrister looking to play a key role in shaping regulatory policy, leading complex legal matters and managing a high-performing multidisciplinary team. The Role Reporting into senior leadership, you will lead a team of legal professionals and economists, providing strategic legal advice across regulatory supervision, enforcement and policy development. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across government and industry, ensuring regulatory decisions are legally robust and aligned with evolving European legislation. Key responsibilities include: Lead and develop a multidisciplinary Legal & Economics team. Provide strategic legal advice on regulatory, supervisory and enforcement matters. Advise on the implementation of European cybersecurity and resilience legislation. Support the development of new regulatory frameworks and legislative proposals. Manage legal risk through expert legal analysis and guidance. Lead legal aspects of investigations, enforcement actions and litigation where required. Work closely with senior internal and external stakeholders across the public sector. Develop operational plans, budgets, team structures and governance processes. Mentor and develop legal and economic professionals within the division. Contribute to the organisation's wider strategic and regulatory objectives. The Candidate The successful candidate will have: Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a current practising certificate where applicable. Significant experience providing legal advice within a regulatory, public sector or highly regulated commercial environment. Strong litigation experience, ideally including High Court, judicial review or statutory appeals. Proven experience leading and developing legal teams. Excellent knowledge of European regulatory legislation including areas such as NIS2, CER, DORA, GDPR or similar regulatory frameworks. Experience working alongside economists or multidisciplinary policy teams. Outstanding communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills. The following would be considered advantageous: Master's Degree or other relevant postgraduate qualification. 10+ years PQE or equivalent senior legal experience. Experience leading major regulatory or public policy initiatives. Budget management and strategic planning experience. Strong understanding of regulatory economics and its application within public policy. Experience within cybersecurity, digital infrastructure, telecommunications, utilities or another regulated sector.
