About The Role

As a AI/ML Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and deployment of artificial intelligence and machine learning models to solve components of complex business problems. You will contribute to key aspects of the model lifecycle, including assisting with strategies for data acquisition, preprocessing, feature engineering, training, optimisation, and collaborating with scale teams for deployment and monitoring. You will focus on what delivers value for your project and seek purpose in all activities. You will work collaboratively across disciplines, engaging with designers, engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders, to help integrate AI solutions into products and services. You are expected to stay current with advancements in AI research and technology and leverage training for continuous learning in the field. Additionally, you will mentor and support less-experienced team members, fostering a culture of learning and technical excellence, and promoting best practices in responsible AI within your immediate team.

What We Are Looking For

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence or related field.

  • Substantial professional experience in designing and implementing analytics/AI systems for R&D or commercial applications. Industry, product or commercial application experience is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in the application of AI, data science, ML/DL and other data modelling techniques to real-world problems.
  • Experience working with large language models (LLMs) and other natural language processing (NLP) technologies and techniques, and strong programming skills in Python.
  • Exposure to benchmarking new AI models and open-source frameworks, and familiarity with prompt/context engineering and related concepts.
  • Exposure to deploying and managing AI/ML models using cloud-native platforms such as Azure Machine Learning, AWS SageMaker, or Google Vertex AI is desirable.
  • Ability to work in situations with uncertainty and ambiguity, showing a positive and proactive attitude.
Bonus Points For
  • Exposure to different types of data storage technology (e.g., relational, document, knowledge graph), and vector databases for RAG etc.
  • Knowledge of data security and data privacy principles and regulations.
  • Familiarity with modern data engineering and processing tools such as Databricks, Apache Beam, or cloud-native data pipelines is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, and MLOps tools (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow) is helpful.
  • Exposure to building and integrating RESTful APIs (e.g., FastAPI) to serve models and connect AI components to enterprise applications is a plus.
  • Experience in version control and standard SDLC practices such as GIT, branches, pull requests, code reviews, unit testing.
  • Ability to leverage AI in your own ways of working, e.g. a structured approach to AI-assisted software development such as familiarity with GitHub Copilot or related tools.
  • Ability to rapidly prototype AI solutions, translating ideas into functional models and applications using frameworks, APIs, and cloud services for quick validation.
  • Experience with agile development on multi-disciplinary project teams with distributed stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Willingness to support and learn from more experienced team members.
  • Experience working in a large organisation is a plus.
