Design & Fabrication Lead Salary: €32,000-€38,000 + Overtime & Bonus Hours: Mon-Thu 07:00-16:30, Fri 07:00-13:30 Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Are you a hands-on technical professional with strong 3 D design and fabrication experience - and ready to step into a leadership role? Our client, a specialist in innovative vehicle engineering solutions, is seeking a Design & Fabrication Lead to join their growing team in North Dublin This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a workshop-engineering environment and is ready to progress into department leadership. The Role This position starts with hands-on technical work across 3 D design, additive manufacturing, CNC operation, and fabrication. After a transition period, you will take ownership of developing and leading the department, managing workflows, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities 3 D Design & Digital Modelling Develop accurate 3 D models and templates for engineering projects Prepare print-ready and production-ready files Maintain structured digital documentation and revision control Additive Manufacturing (3 D Printing) Set up, monitor, and optimise 3 D printing operations Perform basic preventative maintenance Manage print queues and record machine performance CAD & CNC Router Operation Generate CAD designs and CNC cutting toolpaths Execute CNC operations safely and accurately Ensure appropriate material selection and efficient usage Fabrication & Quality Control Fabricate components to exacting engineering standards Perform dimensional checks and maintain quality documentation Troubleshoot and provide improvement recommendations Workflow Coordination & Leadership Organise tasks in line with project schedules Collaborate with engineering and production teams Lead departmental activities, allocate workloads, and develop best practices Support team training and participate in strategic planning Candidate Profile Essential 2+ years' experience in 3 D design (Solid Works, Fusion 360, etc.) Hands-on experience with 3 D printers and CNC routers Strong understanding of measurement, fabrication, and technical drawings Excellent organisation, problem-solving, and attention to detail Practical, hands-on technical ability Desirable Experience in automotive/vehicle conversion or custom fabrication Prior team coordination or supervisory responsibilities Knowledge of workflow planning or lean principles Full driving licence (preferred) What's on Offer Clear pathway to becoming Department Lead Exposure to innovative engineering projects Competitive salary + overtime + bonuses Career development with supported training and education Pension scheme On-site parking & bike-to-work scheme Safe, modern workspace Regular team-building and social events (e.g., go-karting, yoga, team lunches) Inclusive, people-focused culture with daily team huddles How to Apply If you're a technically strong individual with ambition, leadership potential, and a passion for precision engineering, we want to hear from you.
