This position combinesFront of House responsibilities in our Salthill restaurantwithevent and catering support for our new Briarhill catering kitchen. Key ResponsibilitiesRestaurant Front of House - Salthill

  • Guest Service: Welcome guests warmly, take orders, and provide exceptional customer care throughout their dining experience.
  • Order Management: Accurately record orders and communicate them promptly to the kitchen.
  • Table Maintenance: Set, clear, and maintain tables to ensure a clean, organised, and inviting dining area.
  • Menu & Beverage Knowledge: Demonstrate strong familiarity with the menu, daily specials, and beverage offerings. Make thoughtful recommendations based on guest preferences.
  • Beverage Service: Prepare and serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Cash Handling: Process payments securely and accurately, managing both cash and card transactions.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with front-of-house and kitchen colleagues to deliver smooth service.
  • Cleanliness: Maintain high standards of hygiene across dining areas, service stations, and restrooms.
  • Problem Solving: Address guest queries and concerns professionally, escalating to management when needed.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all food safety, health, and safety regulations.

Event & Catering Support - Briarhill

  • Event Setup & Breakdown: Assist with setting up event spaces, including table layouts, service stations, and food presentation.
  • Food Service: Support the catering team by serving food and beverages at on-site and off-site events.
  • Logistics Support: Help with packing, transporting, and organising catering equipment and supplies as required.
  • Operational Flexibility: Adapt to varying event formats-from corporate catering to private celebrations-while maintaining high service standards.
  • Back-of-House Support: Assist with basic prep, organisation, and cleaning tasks to support the event kitchen team.
  • Brand Representation: Act as an ambassador for GFP at all events, providing warm, professional, and efficient service.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or event-based role is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently in both fast-paced restaurant and event settings.
  • Good knowledge of food and beverage service procedures.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, event shifts, and holidays as required.
  • Full driving licence beneficial but not essential.
