Key skills and prior experience that align well with this position AITI qualified tax professional. Prior VAT experience, preferably within professional services. Comfortable working independently and as part of a diverse, multi-functional team. Excellent client-facing, relationship-building, and business development skills. Success in the Role Conduct VAT reviews and provide opinions on VAT scenarios for clients. Research and analyse a wide range of tax issues and implications, including legislation and case law. Consult and liaise with clients on compliance matters, including checking schedules and issuing VAT returns. Mentor and guide junior team members, supporting their development. Support clients' internal VAT processes and contribute to compliance, advisory, and transformational projects across specified territories. Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement within VAT processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and quality. What type of work will I be doing? Providing indirect tax technical support on commercial transactions and restructurings, liaising with cross-functional teams and external advisors. Interacting with regional finance functions and external advisors to ensure documentation is maintained for tax controversy queries. Monitoring changes to domestic and international VAT rules and advising clients on their impact. Analysing VAT implications of mergers and acquisitions and managing integration of new activities. Reviewing contracts from a VAT perspective and researching technical indirect tax issues. Who is the Hiring Manager?
