Job Title – Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Location – County Cavan

Salary – €40K - €50K BOE

About the Role:

A successful Manufacturing company based in County Cavan are currently on the lookout for a Mechanical Design Engineer who has a good knowledge and experience within the industry.

The successful candidate will be a key player in expanding the range and increasing the companies’ capabilities with both electrical and mechanical design carried out on their site.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• To develop and maintain mechanical design drawings using Design Software packages.
• Ability to determine the operational requirements and be able to propose solutions.
• Make sure that all design work is completed and to acceptable standards and confirmed with senior manager.
• Produce mechanical designs from concept to production drawings in line with customer needs and business objectives
• To complete all relevant documentation to the highest of standards and ensure it is accurate.
• Communicate effectively with the manufacturing team to ensure that all projects are running smoothly and effectively.
• Ensure all health and safety requirements are took into consideration throughout the design process.

Essential Criteria:

• Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2+ years’ experience working with design packages, CREO, etc.
• Preferable experience in a manufacturing environment/manufacturing best practice.
• Experience with internal standards and quality conformance metrics.
• Highly proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Requirement to both work on-site and to travel for business.
• Previous SAP experience preferable.
• Full clean driving license preferable.
