Quantity Surveyor - Renewable Energy Location: Waterford | Full-Time | Permanent Salary: €65,000-€75,000 The Company A renewable energy contractor focused on delivering solar and distributed energy projects for commercial and industrial clients. The Irish operation forms part of a wider European group, with projects typically delivered on an EPC basis from design through to commissioning and handover. Work includes civils, electrical and mechanical packages, with multiple projects running at different stages across the region. The Role The Quantity Surveyor will support the commercial management of renewable energy projects, working closely with project and delivery teams from early stages through to final account. Assist in the preparation of Bills of Quantities, particularly for civils works Review and negotiate subcontractor tenders and packages Assess subcontractor applications, variations and claims Track project costs and support budget control across multiple live sites Assist procurement with sourcing materials, plant and subcontractors Provide commercial input during pre-construction and planning stages Attend site meetings, walkdowns and progress reviews as required Report on commercial performance and support monthly reporting This is a hands-on QS role with exposure to both site and office-based activities. The Person The role is open to QS professionals with construction or infrastructure experience. Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline, or equivalent experience Typically 5+ years' experience in a QS or commercial role Backgrounds may include Quantity Surveyor, Project QS, or Assistant QS stepping up Experience managing multiple projects or sites Strong understanding of subcontractor accounts and variations Contracting or main contractor experience preferred Renewable energy or utilities exposure is beneficial but not essential Organised, detail-focused and comfortable working with project teams The Package €65,000-€75,000 salary, depending on experience Pension scheme Healthcare Permanent role within a growing renewable sector Skills: quantity surveying construction civil engineering infrastructure utility Benefits: pension healthcare
