My client is the leading retail accountancy and consulting firm in Ireland.

Due to significant business growth, we have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join their business in Co. Cork (conveniently located between Cork city and Killarney), to liaise with clients and manage a team of Accountants and trainee Accountants.

They employ 40 staff, which increases each year as they grow.

This is an ideal opportunity for a senior accounting professional to advance their career within a highly successful and innovative business.

The Role:

• Preparation and review of Management Accounts with strong emphasis on investigating gross margin variances and forming an action plan to enhance margin and reduce costs
• Evaluate and implement effective internal controls
• Working capital management
• Providing full financial control services to clients
• Managing a team

The Person

• Qualified accountant with over 2 years post qualified experience
• Proficient in all aspects of accounts preparation
• Comfortable in dealing with clients, presenting financial analysis to them, and suggesting operational and financial improvements
• Strong attention to detail
• Competent IT skills
• Ability to train and supervise staff
• Excellent organisational skills and be capable of working on own initiative and to tight deadlines
• Understanding of the retail sector (advantageous but not essential)
• Available to start immediately (highly desirable but not essential)
• Must have a recognised professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA or ACA
• Having previous experience within a similar role in a retail environment (such as with a supermarket in Ireland or with another retail accountancy firm) would be an advantage but all relevant applications will be considered, as full retail accountancy training will be provided.
