Senior Software Engineer (Medical Devices)

Senior Software Engineer role focuses on the design, development, and testing of class I, II and III medical device software in compliance with IEC62304 and related standards. The position includes project planning, scope and estimate management, hands‑on leadership, coaching, and mentoring of junior engineers. Responsibilities also involve technical reviews, process improvement initiatives, reusable patterns, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and test software for class I, II and III medical devices per software standards, e.g., IEC62304.
  • Plan projects, manage scope, and estimate work with product engineers, technology architects, software design engineers, and test engineers.
  • Provide hands‑on leadership, coaching, mentoring, and enforce software engineering best practices to junior engineers.
  • Conduct and/or participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, code and other engineering artifacts to ensure timely delivery.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and document process improvements.
  • Develop reusable patterns and encourage innovation to increase team velocity.
  • Collaborate across functions and with internal and external partners to deliver high‑quality products.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant technical experience, or an advanced degree with 2 years of technical experience.
  • Passion for creating high‑quality software and documentation.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency working in a team environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in software design for medical devices.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and Test-Driven Development.
  • Proficiency in two or more of the following technologies: C++, Java, JavaScript, HTML, C#, .NET, Python, Angular, Xamarin.
  • Object‑oriented design and implementation.
