Take on a leadership position and play a key role in developing the businesss specialist racking division alongside established fit-out operations. Be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team where your technical expertise shapes exciting commercial interior and warehouse projects. About Your New Job As the Technical Design Manager,you will lead and develop the design function across both fit-out and specialist racking divisions. Manage, mentor, and set priorities for a small team of design professionals, ensuring high-quality design outputs. Produce, review, and coordinate technical drawings, schedules, and specifications for projects including glazed partitions, folding wall systems, and racking/storage solutions. Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Estimation, Project Management, and Operations to deliver practical and commercially viable design solutions. Oversee compliance with building regulations, safety standards, and client specifications, and drive continuous improvement in design processes and quality assurance. What Skills You Need Degree/diploma in Architectural Technology, Architectural Design, Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in technical design and drawing production, ideally in commercial fit-out or specialist contracting. Experience managing, mentoring, or leading a design team, or strong leadership potential. Deep understanding of construction detailing, materials, and buildability, with a commercial mindset. Proficient with CAD/BIM and relevant design software. Strong communication and coordination skills, able to work with internal teams and external stakeholders.
