Key Responsibilities Key Duties and Responsibilities: Quality Assurance: Development and oversight of quality improvement initiatives as agreed with the RSM and CSR teams. Support staff in carrying out the quality improvements and auditing the performance. Establish methods to implement and ensure that relevant national standards are adhered to. Ensure that all hospital policies on infection control, health and safety, dignity at work etc are understood and complied with by all Radiographers. Ensure that all departmental protocols and procedures are adhered to by performing/coordinating regular audits. Ensuring that mandatory training is up to date, in line with SVUH policy and providing regular feedback to radiology management group on same. Assist with the development, update and distribution of departmental PPGs Actively seeking out and facilitating CPD through training, education and research opportunities. Provide support to the RSM team on development of advanced practice roles for radiographers. Assist with complaints procedures as required. Work with CSR team to ensure that staff training is up to date and recorded appropriately. Work with CSR team to ensure that accurate records of equipment service, maintenance and performance are recorded appropriately. Represent the department at relevant meetings and groups. Participate as required by the RSM team in other duties within the radiology department. Clinical Operations: Motivate staff towards the provision of a quality service and demonstrate significant energy and enthusiasm for one's work and profession. Promote and maintain a safe environment for all SVUH staff Liaise with the other Clinical Specialist Radiographers on operational matters Actively participate in facilitating continuing training, education and research activities for Radiographers. Use professional expertise and management experience to understand and evaluate problems and demonstrate sound practical judgment and decisiveness. Work with the relevant Clinical Specialist Radiographers to ensure accurate records of equipment service, maintenance and performance. Maintain up to date knowledge of clinical, technical and professional developments relating to Radiography. The successful candidate will maintain a clinical rotation as required by service needs. Personnel: Participate as required in Human Resource planning, recruitment, selection, induction and probation of Radiographers. Ensure that all Hospital PPPGs in relation to these are complied with. Promote and maintain a safe environment for all staff. Participate as required in staff development and individual performance review process and foster a high level of morale among staff by effective motivation and communication. In conjunction with the RSM Team ensure any Human Resource issues are resolved as efficiently and effectively as possible. Work closely with individuals involved in incidents, injuries, complaints etc. to ensure situations are resolved as effectively as possible.
