Commercial Manager: Transportation – Full‑time, on‑site position in Dublin, D, IE.

Job Overview

AECOM is a leading infrastructure consulting firm working across transportation and other sectors.

Responsibilities
  • Provide risk and commercial advice during project lifecycle to support project performance and business development.
  • Deliver effective reporting and forecasting of commercial performance for supported projects.
  • Manage changes rigorously, focusing on commercial implications and risk/opportunity.
  • Ensure activities meet internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
  • Apply contractual mechanisms, prepare commercial quotations, and negotiate agreements.
  • Attend progress and change‑control meetings with clients.
  • Contribute to Risk Register and assess risk allowance in financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with discipline leads and project planners to capture and monitor programme changes.
  • Manage internal reporting processes, Earned Value Management and Estimated at Completion (EAC).
  • Oversee supply‑chain contracts, payment applications and invoices.
  • Perform regular programme and cost reconciliation.
  • Support the Commercial Director and Assistant Commercial Directors, working closely with operation teams and other commercial managers to ensure bids and projects are commercially robust and that contractual mechanisms for change control, invoicing and financial reporting are proactively managed.
Qualifications
  • Preferably a degree in business, finance, law, engineering, or related discipline.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, ACMA, CPA, MRICS or Law Society advantage.
  • Previous experience in a legal, commercial or financial role within the construction and property industry.
  • Experience in commercial management for large‑value projects with fee values exceeding £1million.
  • Good understanding of risk‑management procedures and processes.
  • Commercial acumen, strong business‑analysis skills and ability to interpret complex financial systems and reports.
  • Basic knowledge of English commercial law and contract law relevant to the built environment; experience with GCCC, NEC3 & NEC4, JCT, government frameworks and FIDIC.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, relationship building, communication at all levels and collaborative working across the organisation.
