Job Title: Junior Data Analyst
About the Role: We are looking for a proactive and analytical Data Analyst to join our growing team and play a key role in supporting our nationwide field sales operations. As our Data Analyst, you will transform data into meaningful insights that drive business decisions, improve sales performance, and support strategic growth. You will work closely with senior management, sales leadership, HR, and recruitment to analyse performance trends, identify opportunities, and provide accurate reporting across the business. Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Collect, analyse, and interpret data from multiple business systems.
- Produce daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports for senior management.
- Develop dashboards and KPI reports to monitor business performance.
- Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities to improve sales and operational efficiency.
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of business data.
Sales Performance Analysis
- Analyse field sales performance against company KPIs.
- Monitor key metrics including sales conversion, quality of sale, cancellations (breakage), productivity, and regional performance.
- Provide actionable insights to support decision-making and improve commercial performance.
- Track individual, team, and regional sales trends.
Business Intelligence
- Work with management to understand reporting requirements and business objectives.
- Create meaningful visual reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools.
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and performance planning.
- Identify areas for process improvement using data-driven insights.
Data Quality & Governance
- Maintain accurate databases and reporting systems.
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and company data protection policies.
- Continuously improve reporting processes and automation.
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- Previous experience in a Data Analyst or Business Analyst role.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH, and complex formulas.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent numerical ability and attention to detail.
- Experience creating reports and dashboards.
- Ability to interpret data and present findings clearly.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable:
- Experience using Power BI or Tableau.
- SQL knowledge.
- Experience working within a sales, retail, utilities, telecommunications, or field sales environment.
- Understanding of sales KPIs and commercial reporting.
