Role Title: Sports & Exercise Medicine Consultant Location: Dublin, Carrickmines Contract: Permanent, Part time Vhi Health & Wellbeing DAC currently has a part time, permanent vacancy for the role of Sports & Exercise Medicine Consultant at the Vhi360 Health Centre in Carrickmines. Reporting to the Clinical Director for Enhanced Primary Care, the SEM Consultant will provide MSK and SEM clinical expertise and services in our Carrickmines 360 Health Centre aligned to the overall H&W strategy and vision. Primarily, the role aims to deliver a service to achieve the best patient experience and clinical outcomes for Vhi members. Collaborate with relevant individuals /teams across H&W (e.g. Clinical Directors, Operational leads, National Heads of Discipline, physiotherapy, podiatry, health coaches and third-party providers to obtain input and ensure a coordinated approach aligned to the overall H&W strategy and vision. Champion clinical excellence and patient-centred healthcare and an integrated approach across Vhi H&W. Identify and support the development and implementation of the appropriate patient pathways and processes within the MSK/ SEM service, Vhi H&W's other services, and externally. To participate in the development of effective clinical governance and to ensure that processes are in place which address clinical effectiveness and outcomes, clinical risk, clinical incidents, patient experience and complaints. Work with the relevant Quality, Safety & Risk (QSR) team members to ensure that the design and delivery of MSK/ SEM services adhere to H&W QSR policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines (PPPGs) and external standards / statutory requirements (e.g. HIQA), and oversee the process to secure and maintain the relevant external accreditation. To identify education requirements and opportunities and provide education to staff, doctors, ANPs, nurses, and physiotherapists. To work with Vhi H&W to identify opportunities to develop the scope and depth of the service offering and new ways of working and support development of business plans. What you will need to be successful: Essential Requirements Specialist Registration with the Irish Medical Council as Sports and Exercise Medicine Consultant. Post graduate specialist training as Sports and Exercise Consultant registered with the IMC. Excellence in clinical consultation, clinical acumen and working as a leader of an MDT, service development and clinical leadership. Desirable Requirements Service development and expansion, clinical leadership, mentorship and MDT development. Excellent communication skills, advocacy and ability to develop a wider range of services for our members in collaboration with operational and business colleagues.
