Réalta is seeking a candidate with strong expertise in financial management or accountancy.

Responsibilities Include
Be a qualified accountant, ideally with at least five years' post qualification experience.

Demonstrate a thorough understanding of financial policies and controls, and recommend improvements where appropriate.

Provide oversight of organisational compliance and risk management.

Serve on the Audit, Risk and Governance Committee to evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of financial controls and ensure adherence to best practice.

Maintain an overview of the organisation's finances and advise the Board on the financial implications of proposals, including cash flow considerations.

Support compliance and risk oversight in line with standard board responsibilities.

Act as an authorised signatory for the charity.

Previous experience with the not for profit sector is desirable.

Board Meetings
Meetings are held at the Réalta Centre for Arts + Health, University Hospital Waterford, with the option to attend some meetings online. There are six in person board meetings and six online sub-committee meetings each year.
