This is a senior position reporting directly to the Head of Section for Mine Planning & Scheduling. As team leader for the Mine Geology Team, you will have the overall responsibility for overseeing and coordinating all geological work required to support mine planning and operations. The role involves high quality leadership, to promote and uphold the Boliden Tara values of Care, Courage, and Responsibility, whilst also ensuring a safe and positive working environment within the mining operation. Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• In line with applicable procedures, conduct all duties in a way that promotes Bolidens values and best practice relating to environmental, health, safety and quality performance.

• Provide effective leadership of direct reports through coaching, setting clear performance goals and manage the development needs of direct reports

• Effectively plan and coordinate the work of direct reports and contractors

• Responsible for grade control, production, reconciliation functions and underground drilling as a well as working closely with other technical teams within Mine Planning & Scheduling, Operations, Safety and Exploration.

• Provide comprehensive input into the strategic and short-term mine planning with alignment to relevant geology and mineral resource optimisation

• Identify and support continuous improvement projects within the Mine Geology department

Skills and Capabilities:

• University degree in geoscience or equivalent.

• 5+ years of experience operating at Senior Geologist level in an underground mine environment, preferably base metal mining.

• Familiarity with resource modelling, QAQC protocols, structural geology, hydrogeology, database management, 3D modelling and mine planning software. Previous experience with Leapfrog and Deswik an asset.

• Strong interpersonal skills - an ability to influence and build relationships at all levels. Previous supervisory experience desirable.

• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.

• Demonstrates a willingness to drive new opportunities and continuous improvements

• Membership or qualified for membership of a professional body acknowledged by PERC desirable

• Fluency in the English language both written and spoken is essential

• Full clean driver licence

Additional Info:

• Staff position with normal workweek Monday to Friday
