Navan Hire & Hardware located on Kells Road, Navan is a family-owned business which was established in 1986. We are a leading provider of hardware, plumbing supplies, DIY, and hire of plant and machinery in the North-East. Our workshop is the heart of our operations , ensuring all machinery and equipment are in top conditions. Were seeking a Spare Parts Assistant to support our busy workshop in managing parts inventory and distribution.

The Role:

As a Spare Parts Assistant, you will be a vital part of our workshop team, responsible for organising and managing the parts inventory, ensuring that all necessary components are available to keep our fleet running smoothly. Working closely with mechanics, suppliers, and the workshop manager, youll handle the administration of parts orders, manage stock levels, and maintain accurate records. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Monitor, organise, and maintain parts inventory, ensuring all parts are accurately labeled, stored, and easy to locate.
  • Order Processing: Handle parts orders, from sourcing and receiving to delivery coordination, ensuring timely availability for workshop needs.
  • Stock Control: Conduct regular stock checks, update stock levels, and communicate with suppliers to maintain inventory.
  • Workshop Support: Liaise closely with workshop mechanics to determine parts required for maintenance and repairs.
  • Record Keeping: Accurately maintain parts records, purchase orders, delivery receipts, and other documentation.
  • Supplier Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure quality parts at competitive prices.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations within the workshop environment, contributing to a safe and organised workspace.

What Were Looking For:

  • Experience in a parts administration role within the plant hire, automotive or heavy machinery sector is preferred not required.
  • Knowledge of parts management software or other systems (MS Office 365) is an advantage.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills; ability to work well with both suppliers and the workshop team.
  • Problem-solving mindset and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of plant machinery or automotive parts is beneficial.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: €30,000.00-€35,000.00 per year
