We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled MRI Clinical Specialist to join our team based in our Tallaght Clinic. In this role, you will operate independently, delivering high-quality diagnostic MRI examinations while maintaining the highest standards of patient care, safety, and clinical excellence. You will play a key role not only in daily clinical operations but also in service development, staff training, and continuous improvement initiatives within the MRI department. Key Responsibilities Independently operate MRI equipment to perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures. Carry out clinical assessments and advanced MRI examinations, applying sound clinical judgment to distinguish normal from pathological findings. Select and optimise scan parameters based on clinical indications and patient history. Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout all imaging procedures. Support cross-cover requirements in X-ray and DEXA imaging when required. Manage daily MRI workflow, including patient scheduling and equipment oversight. Record and report equipment faults or safety concerns promptly. Maintain Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and ensure accurate data entry. Coordinate shift and work schedules with the Clinical Lead and CSM. Ensure adherence to MRI safety protocols and maintain safe working practices in controlled areas. Follow radiation safety local rules and ALARA principles where applicable; ensure appropriate use of radiation protective devices. Obtain informed consent and assist with safe patient handling and transfers. Maintain high levels of professional ethics, confidentiality, and patient dignity at all times. Support service development activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Participate in performance reviews, staff development programmes, and ongoing training. Assist in recruitment activitiesincluding interviewing, onboarding, and mentoring new MRI staffin collaboration with the Clinical Lead and Recruitment Manager. Represent the Clinical Lead in their absence. Ensure adherence to quality assurance standards and company policies relating to complaints and patient care. Qualifications & Experience Essential BSc in Diagnostic Imaging or equivalent recognised qualification. Valid CORU Registration. Extensive experience in routine and complex MRI scanning. Minimum 6+ years post-graduation MRI experience Proficiency with RIS/PACS systems and digital imaging workflows. Up-to-date understanding of MRI safety protocols and imaging techniques. Desirable Postgraduate qualification in MRI.
